Dyslexia:Positively Unique!
Never forget: Knowledge is Power!

Whilst the majority of my work through The Dyslexic Dyslexia Consultant, is with adults, businesses and education establishments, I do also work with parents, young people and families. Over the last decade I have noticed a pattern to the times of year that I get the most harrowing calls: a pattern to the times that parents call in absolute despair about their child, the education system and their need for information, advice and generally the need to ‘let off steam’ or finally have the listening ear of someone who understands, empathises and can offer solid, proactive and clear advice & guidance.

It is in my opinion, no exaggeration to say that parents and children at this point are experiencing and going through really traumatic experiences! I have been one of those parents, I have seen and felt that desperation, I have not known how to protect my child form a system that was damaging him from what I feared was beyond repair. I have felt that I was floundering and failing my child, that I did not know enough and that feeling of helplessness and being unable to protect my child from the system that was causing so much damage!

Having been that parent, means I empathise and understand, how hard it is to find and access information, I was often told:

‘we are doing all we can’

‘we have other children in the class who are much worse’

or words to those effects! This led me to actively seek and search for information, it gave me reason to discover useful, important and accurate information and to seek knowledge.

Over many years I struggled, fought and every now and then found bits of information; sound and trustworthy information, advice & guidance. However so much of it came too late to be of any use to me as a parent with a child in an education system that was failing my child. But that did not stop me putting this information to good use: equipped with this hard found information, my knowledge, passion and determination to stop this happening to others, Dyslexia information Day was started!

Dyslexia information Day offers visitors a wealth of knowledge; be they parents, families, adults, teenagers, employers, employees! This event has the most amazing volunteers, who are full of empathy, passion, determination and are all, each and every one of them, a total inspiration in their own right!

You can visit Dyslexia information Day events for free, set up so that no matter your financial position you can access the information, you can attend and are not expected to spend a single penny (apart from parking if you drive there!) we have as much free information, free advice & guidance as we can fit under one roof! We also have positive proactive and inspirational people who volunteer to help on the day.

No one pays to visit or to exhibit: the advice & guidance as well as the inspiration, are totally free!

The aim: that you leave Dyslexia information Day equipped with the knowledge you are not alone (at the very least), hopefully a plan for the future and a clear awareness of your next step and what is available to you locally, plus a list of people / organisations who can help!

Never forget:
Knowledge is power …Dyslexia information Day offers you a room full of knowledge to empower you!
